BUFFALO GROVE – Senator Adriane Johnson released the following statement in response to the Illinois Supreme Court’s ruling on the pretrial release portions of the SAFE-T Act:

“I applaud the Illinois Supreme Court in historically upholding provisions of the SAFE-T Act. This monumental measure will further ensure that everyone is granted the same freedoms and humane treatment regardless of economic standing.

“While we have much work to do, this is a long-overdue win in dismantling systemic racism and creating a fair and equitable criminal legal system for all.”
